Dr. Letheren brings a passion for delivering thorough, personalized eye care and is dedicated to helping patients of all ages see their best. She earned her degrees from both Western University and the University of Waterloo.
Dr. Letheren also works at Parkwood Hospital in London, a rehabilitation hospital where she co-founded Canada’s first multidisciplinary vision rehabilitation clinic. She has extensive experience working with patients with chronic conditions, motor vehicle injuries, head injuries, developmental conditions, learning disabilities and concussions in adults and children.
She has clinical interests in fitting all types of contact lenses, glasses, and managing ocular and systemic disease conditions.
Dr. Letheren currently serves on three boards and volunteers on several committees focused on vision-related concerns. Cheryl is also about to launch two podcasts, WOW Health (Women Talking about Women’s health) with two other allied health professionals and Dr Cheryl EYEDOC.
Dr. Letheren has deep roots in rural Ontario, having spent summers on her aunt’s farm near Tavistock and growing up with grandparents who used to own a market-garden farm in Etobicoke. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, reading, crafting, and theatre events. She has three adult children, a pug, and a cat who thinks it’s a dog.
